US Democratic Vice Presidential nominee, John Edwards and his wife Elizabeth celebrated their wedding anniversary today as they do each year at Wendy's, a fast-food burger chain. Apparently that's where the couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary. Edwards and his wife are campaigning in Pennsylvania and New York, so they stopped at a Wendy's in Newburgh for their annual rite.
Here's a brief report from the NYTimes:
"When the Kerry-Edwards caravan arrived in Scranton at midday, Mr. Edwards and his wife, Elizabeth, stopped and had lunch at a Wendy's restaurant to mark their 27th wedding anniversary, as they always have, because Mr. Edwards proposed to his wife at a Wendy's."
So was it Scranton or Newburgh? The Times says Scranton, the Post has it as Newburgh. See the photo, courtesy of the Post.
