Finally saw the Academy Award winner in the Short Live Action Film category, West Bank Story--I blogged about this battle of the falafel joints on February 27--and it's a gem. Full of wit, lively music, un PC jokes, and sight gags, as well as bits stolen from West Side Story, the flick portrays the ( absurd) battle between the Kosher King Jewish deli and its rival Hummus Hut, both on the West Bank. ( Duh.) And the expected love affair between Fatima, the Palestinian cashier, and David, the Israeli soldier.

nice site you have, thanks for sharing, have a look at http://badmovieknights.com/ when you get time ;)!

Sounds like a fun flick. Al Jazeera Network is holding a documentary film festival in Doha next week. I'll be looking to see if they show this ray of light...

I have no idea where you can see this--our local indy cinema showed all the Academy Award nominees in that category, as well as the nominated animated short flicks, in a double feature.

It looks like a wonderfully humorous film. I'll definitely keep an eye out for it. Thanks
