This morning Senator Obama's communications director Robert Gibbs clarified his candidate's position. Obama apparently does not "stand against walls" at country clubs nor does he "hold" martinis while doing so, or not, as was implied by an ascerbic ( and clearly jealous) Karl Rove recently. The last time Gibbs saw the Senator with a drink in his hands, it was a beer.
But which one?????????
Yesterday Obama spoke with "working women" at the HQ of one of New Mexico's best local chains, Flying Star, a joint known for its baked goods, burgers, chatty atmosphere, magazine rack, and assorted tasty veggie-rich Asianesque entrees.
Which reminds me. The Eater- In-Chief of this grand nation entertained the President of the Philippines, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, today. In his remarks the Prez said this: "First, I want to tell you how proud I am to be the President of a nation that -- in which there's a lot of Philippine-Americans. They love America and they love their heritage. And I reminded the President that I am reminded of the great talent of the -- of our Philippine-Americans when I eat dinner at the White House. "
White House Head Chef since 2005, Cristeta Comerford is the first woman to hold the job--thank you, Laura Bush. She's a native of the Philippines and had been working at the White House since 1995. Here's her bio, according to a piece in USA Today a few years back.
"Comerford received a degree in food technology in the Philippines and worked at hotels and restaurants in Austria and Washington, D.C. She also worked with chefs in northern California. Among them were the late Barbara Tropp, who fused Chinese and California cuisine at her restaurant China Moon, and chef-author John Ash, whose specialties include American game."

What are we going to do when/if we do not have the current sophisticated, erudite prezz anymore to roll our eyes in disbelief at his utterings? Listen to Obama???
