Plays on words, yuhhnow, Rose, one of my frivolities. Meanwhile, I am contemplating the marination of some shrimp for dinner.

I know what to do with a marina-D-e.

I even know how to make them. ( thank you Amurrican cookbooks)

I just did not get the T in doing it- I would have D'd it.

Rose, marinade is a noun; marinate is a verb.

You make a marinade, slather it on a hunk of meat, then put it in the fridge to marinate a few hours before cooking.

"My marinading as well as my marinating will have to wait a day or two" you write. I don't get it.

Please explain.

As to marinades, I have a 40 year old McCall's cook book. Whilst some of the recipes are a joke ( take a can of Campbells chicken soup....) their marinade recipes are wonderful.
